Centre Stage TEST

From the Editor:

What fun - to feature the sometimes eccentric and always entertaining "queen" of illusion herself, the incomparable RuPAUL, who has folks going ga-ga over his new book "Workin' It!" and a hot second season of his award-winning reality show, RuPAUL's Drag Race. We sent two of our photographers, Ocean Morisset and Rick Gore, to capture RuPAUL at book signings in New York City and Atlanta and even chatted with a few of the contestants from the show. And then there are the original musings of RuPaul, as only RuPAUL can do.

On the theater scene, we bring you interviews and reviews from shows in New York City, Miami and Atlanta as well as a rare interview with Grammy winner Ramsey Lewis who was in South Florida with his old-time friends, jazz producer Larry Rosen and singer-extraordinaire Al Jarreau.

From the creative arts genre we have Peoria, Illinois native Jonathon Romain, whose art celebrates the African-American experience with all of its diversity. And for those who love fashion, we have a designing legend, Bob Schafer, who hopes to motivate young folks to follow their dreams with his soon-to-be published work of reflections.

In addition, we have included one of RuPAUL's "boyz" from "Drag Race Season Two," physical trainer and model Max Phillisaire in a photo spread that will delight the eyes - and may make some of us run for the gym.

Last but not least, we have included interviews with the producers of a new, controversial DVD-series that examines the ethnic lineage of Jesus - was Jesus Black? Read on and see.

Fashion, fitness, philosophical reflections and finger-popping musical productions - what more do you need? Enjoy the ride. And come back next month for even more surprises.
